Honestly after a second watch, that might be a 10. Yes it uses every stereotype of this kind of horror film, but every element of that stereotype is executed (ignore the pun) expertly. Director definitely knew what they were trying to do, showing the obvious genre stereotypes with the slight subversions throughout (and at the end obvs). Yes there are slight issues you could expand upon and critique, but wow probably one of the best examples from the past decade, of that type of horror sub genre. Showing near perfect execution (sorry again) of modernised horror genre focusing on tension and cleverly placed comedy. Obviously when a film subverts modern horror, '
Cabin In The Woods' has to be in the conversation, and To be honest I definitely think Ready Or Not achieved what it wanted to do, with more cohesion, when compared to 'Cabin In The Woods'...
(Also not sure the final song used, fits the tone that well, but loved that final wide and close up)
9/10
